Arm Lift

Brachioplasty is an aesthetic surgery operation that is applied to the upper arm skin, which grows and loosens parallel to the progress of age and weight loss. You can strengthen your upper arm muscles in this area without surgery, with arm stretching exercises, but unfortunately you cannot eliminate the existing elasticity and fat deposits and even excess skin. Brachioplasty is also referred to as arm fit in medical literature. In Brachioplasty the upper arm contours are reshaped so that excess skin between the armpit and the elbow is reduced in fat, resulting in a more proportionate appearance. In more sophisticated operations, the incision mark remains in the upper arm. Brachioplasty allows the upper arms to look younger and firmer, increasing self-confidence and wearing short sleeves.

In Brachioplasty, the excess, fat, skin and subcutaneous tissue inside the arm is removed and the operation is finished to provide the natural and young appearance of the arm as before. Liposculpture methods can sometimes be included as ancillary methods in Brachioplasty.

The medication is provided for your convenience during the surgical process. Your doctor will make the best choice for you. They will start the operation with intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. The exact length and form to be inserted into the arm varies depending on the amount of skin to be extracted. Depending on the surgeon’s preference, the incisions are made in the interior or back of the arm and are performed only in the area up to the armpit with the elbow. After this, liposuction or different fat transfer methods are applied to remove the fat. The arm muscles and fat tissue are reshaped and the closure stage begins. Arm stretching incisions are usually closed with removable or absorbable stitches.

After Brachioplasty

You will have a very comfortable period after Brachioplasty. Swellings and bruises in your arms and a slight mild numbness in these areas will be observed and they will stop within approximately 2 weeks. Once you are home, we advise you to leave the hospital with information about the procedures you need to follow.

Returning to Routine Life after Brachioplasty

We receive very positive feedback for Brachioplasty. The recovery process of the first scar is observed within 5 to 10 days. After 2 weeks from the operation, the swellings disintegrate and the incision lines begin to fade. In the meantime, the patient can return to normal life. Severe physical sports activities should be avoided for 2 months after the Brachioplasty. With lifelong weight control and arm exercises you can protect your rejuvenated appearance. In addition, a healthy lifestyle contributes to the long life of the results.
If your upper arms are sagging from excessive weight loss, if your upper arm is loose, your upper arms have more fat than your lower arms and your upper arms are not proportional to your lower arms, you can have brachioplasty.
